Therapy Types

Triumph provides a small, highly structured family-type environment for youth. Triumph’s cognitive therapy approach utilizes individual therapy mixed with group and family therapy to treat each youth’s issues. The therapists specialize in a variety of issues and disorders, including, but not limited to addiction, substance abuse, emotional disturbance, oppositional defiance and RAD. In addition to the therapy, the Positive Peer Culture utilized in Triumph facilities help the youth process their issues and build skills for their own personal progress. This includes consistent group counseling and peer mentoring.

Individual Therapy

Individual Psychotherapy is provided by the student’s primary therapist. These sessions focus on behavioral and treatment issues. They are conducted in a safe and private setting where the student can freely express thoughts and feelings.

Group Therapy

Group Psychotherapy is provided as an integral part of the therapeutic program. Group Psychotherapy is facilitated by a Licensed Clinician at least three times each week. These psychotherapy groups are designed to focus on a variety of therapeutic topics including, substance addictionsubstance abuseemotional disturbance and management, trauma, and communication.

Family Therapy

Family Psychotherapy is provided by the student’s primary therapist.  Family Psychotherapy sessions are designed to improve the family unit as a whole. This is accomplished through Functional Family Therapy and Solution Focused Therapy.  The ultimate goal is unification with family and positive influences.

Triumph Parent Conferences

Parent training is also available. It focuses specifically on the parents and family team building. The conference topics vary; however, the primary goal is to work with the parents and the students to help them effectively interact with each other. Many needs of the parents are explored including but not limited to: adequately coping with a defiant child, family systems and parental management skills. Quarterly workshops are fully incorporated into the program to help parents with transition planning and rebuilding trust with their son.

Transition Planning

Triumph is dedicated to helping each youth succeed beyond their time in the Triumph program.  The program is specifically designed for a lifetime of success with extensive transitional, aftercare planning with the youth and parents. By incorporating other educational groups in the program, Triumph prepares each student with the ability to continue to find resources of support beyond their time with us.  Both on and off campus sessions are provided by professional, organizations and/or volunteers such as Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), AR, and Boy Scouts of America.
