At Triumph Youth Services, we believe that creating lasting change in young men requires more than just talk therapy—it takes immersive, hands-on experiences that reinforce core values and build real-life skills. Our program combines evidence-based treatment with daily activities that promote accountability, growth, and confidence. These experiences are designed to meet the diverse needs of our students and help them apply therapeutic lessons to real-world challenges.
Students engage in a variety of structured activities throughout their stay, including:
Addiction recovery support through Narcotics Anonymous (NA), Alcoholics Anonymous (AA), and the Addiction Recovery Program (ARP)
Character development curricula such as New Freedom, the 12 Steps, and The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
Vocational training and career skill development
Academic support through Triumph Academy and Bridgerland Applied Technology College
Recreational opportunities like hiking, fishing, camping, field trips, and competitive high school and club sports
Weekly guest speakers, including law enforcement, victims of crime, and professional athletes such as members of the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens
All programming is aligned with our level-based structure, which tracks progress using each student’s academic GPA, therapeutic milestones, and Behavior Point Average (BPA). This ensures that students are actively participating in all areas of their development and are held accountable for their growth.
Each summer, Triumph Youth Services and Triumph Academy offer an unforgettable Alaska adventure—one of the most anticipated highlights of the program. Centered around the breathtaking Kenai Peninsula, this experience is open to current students, alumni, and their families, combining personal growth with outdoor learning. Through Triumph Academy, students can even earn school credit by participating in structured educational workshops during the trip (credit availability may vary).
Trip highlights include:
Fishing in the Kenai River and the Pacific Ocean
Hiking with glacier views and wildlife observation, including bear viewing
Cultural exploration, including dog sled activities and traditional Alaskan cuisine
Sightseeing tours and hands-on learning in natural science and geography
Leadership and sportsmanship development through outdoor challenges
The Alaska trip is designed to reinforce Triumph Academy’s educational mission while offering a transformative, real-world learning opportunity. It fosters independence, resilience, and connection with nature—all essential life skills. An additional fee covers travel, food, therapy, programming, gear, and other essentials. Students are also encouraged to bring some spending money to enjoy local favorites along the way.
Through Triumph Academy, students at Triumph Youth Services have the unique opportunity to train Registered Retrievers as part of their academic and therapeutic development. This hands-on program teaches responsibility, patience, and empathy as students care for and train dogs in socialization, obedience, and advanced skills. Approved by clinical staff, the Retriever Program aligns with students’ individual treatment and educational plans, helping them build life skills such as communication, emotional regulation, and resilience. Many students even go on to compete in nationally recognized AKC field trials, gaining confidence and a sense of achievement along the way.
Triumph launched Box Elder County’s first rugby program, now part of the Utah Youth Rugby Association and USA Rugby. The team brings together Triumph students and local youth, creating opportunities for connection and growth beyond the classroom.
Players compete in both full-contact 15-man rugby and 7s tournaments against community and high school teams. Participation requires maintaining academic standards and meeting team expectations throughout the season. Utah Youth Rugby’s strict Code of Conduct aligns closely with Triumph’s values, ensuring that character and sportsmanship remain top priorities.
Rugby provides a positive outlet for students to manage stress, anxiety, depression, and anger. Through the sport, they develop discipline, teamwork, resilience, brotherhood, patience, and humility—skills that serve them well both on and off the field.
