EMDR Therapy

EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy is an evidence-based mental health treatment intervention. EMDR uses rapid sets of eye movements or bilateral stimulation to help reprocess disturbing experiences. This method helps process things that are troubling you and updates your memories to a healthier present perspective. EMDR’s goal is to help you heal from trauma or other disturbing life experiences. The therapy aims to help individuals process and integrate traumatic memories, reducing their emotional charge and allowing for healthier coping mechanisms. EMDR is structured in eight phases, including history-taking, preparation, assessment, desensitization, installation, body scan, closure, and reevaluation. Many people find it effective for reducing symptoms of trauma and anxiety, often reporting significant improvement after relatively few sessions.
